NIH-funded Postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Dr. David Wang at Washington University in St. Louis. Projects focus broadly on characterization of the human virome and its association with diseases such as Inflammatory Bowel Disease (e.g. Norman et. al. Cell 2015). Studies entail use of genomics, bioinformatics, virology, molecular biology and cell biology to characterize the eukaryotic viruses and bacteriophage present and development of necessary tools to evaluate their potential contributions to human disease. A major emphasis is on characterization of novel RNA bacteriophage (e.g. Krishnamurthy et al, PLOS Biology 2016; Krishnamurthy et al, Virology 2018) and defining bacterial mechanisms of antiviral immunity against RNA bacteriophage. Please send CV and brief statement of interests to email@example.com.
