Postdoctoral research associate is sought to study the ability of herpes simplex virus (HSV) to induce neurodegenerative and cognitive pathologies in a neonatal mouse model in the laboratory of Dr. David Leib. Our highly collaborative group is interested in the pathogenesis, latency, and reactivation of herpes simplex virus (HSV). We are especially interested in the mechanisms by which HSV causes permanent cognitive and neurodegenerative changes in neonatal mice, as described in papers from our laboratory:

We are also investigating therapeutic antibodies which may be effective in preventing the sequelae of this devastating neonatal infection. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38350452/
