The Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology at the University of Washington has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time, day shift, DATA MANAGER. This position will support multiple studies within UW Virology. Specifically, this position will support trial data management processes, including data cleaning, quality control, and assembly and organization of datasets for trial sponsors.
Work with the central team at UW with sponsors to ensure harmonized collection, cleaning, sharing, and storage of data across multiple laboratory trials;
Create and maintain databases for study results;
Help develop, maintain, bench-test, and debug electronic data collection forms, platforms, and monitoring systems;
Independently monitor incoming study data;
Maintain a proactive and forward-thinking approach to data quality;
Develop, run, and maintain quality assurance code and generate queries in a timely and consistent manner to meet project timelines;
Review query responses and error resolution forms submitted by sponsors; write and run cleaning code when queries are resolved;
Maintain audit trail for data cleaning;
Present progress updates in weekly data team meetings, communicate effectively verbally and in writing to ensure consistent data cleaning in line with best practice;
Work closely with investigators and operations team to deliver project goals and meet deadlines;
Contribute to generation of study reports, presentations and data visualizations as needed.

Bachelor's degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or relevant field with at least three years of experience in data management or analysis, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient programming skills in Python and/or R. Solid understanding of molecular biological and virology concepts.
