  • Lab Technician
  • Post Doctoral Position - Academic
  • Research Scientist
Job Type/Arrangement:
  • Full Time

Multiple postdoctoral fellow positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Chung at the University of Louisville, Kentucky. The Chung lab has built expertise in antiviral drug discovery and host-virus interaction for various emerging RNA pathogens ( Currently the lab studies on viral helicases as a novel antiviral targe. The lab has been highly productive with discovering promising antiviral candidate compounds and novel assays. The lab uses novel and innovative approaches including chemical genetics, high-throughput sequencing and screening.

The position will have opportunity to join active research programs of alphaviruses, coronavirus, neuronal virology, and other emerging pathogens and to gain training in biosafety, biosecurity and BSL-3 research within a state-of-the art NIH funded Regional Biocontainment Laboratory facility.

Applicants should have a PhD (or equivalent) in related fields, including but not limited to microbiology, chemistry, biochemistry, drug discovery, data science, and/or in vitro and in vivo model development.

Multiple projects with various disciplines, including not limited to assay development, antiviral evaluations, animal models, in vivo imaging, viral evolution, and data science for chemical genomics) are available and will be tailored for the interest and the background of the postdoc.
