A postdoc position is available at the GlycoProteomics Laboratory (University of São Paulo, Institute of Biomedical Sciences, Department of Parasitology). The main goal of the project associate with this position is the structural and functional analysis of glycoproteins and glycosylation enzymes involved in modulating the SARS-CoV-2 infection of host cells. A FAPESP postdoc fellowship is available. Exclusive and full time dedication is required. The selected postdoc will receive R$ 7.310,80/month (approximately US$ 1,350.00/month) and duration of 24 months.
Skills and background:
a. The Candidate must have concluded the PhD no longer than 7 years ago;
b. The candidate must be independent, enthusiastic, professional and innovative. It is also desirable that candidates be able to interact and work with the other research group members and help them in other projects;
c. This position requires background in Cell biology, Molecular Biology and Virology (confirmed by scientific articles);
d. The candidate should write scientific articles well;
e. Candidates must have experience in molecular biology, cell biology and cellular techniques, such as: cell culture, DNA and RNA extraction, quantitative PCR, western blotting, genetic and pharmacological manipulation of signaling pathways. The ability to work in BSL3 laboratory and to perform proteomics experiment is desirable.
