About Us:

Stony Brook University is located ~60 miles east of New York City on the north shore of Long Island. The campus is home to a moderately diverse population of >20,000 undergraduate students and >7000 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows and is an active and vibrant campus with co-curricular experiences to complement academic endeavors, including intramural and division I sports teams, art, music and multicultural activities. The Department of Molecular Genetics is a highly collaborative environment of faculty whose interest focus on the molecular microbiology and pathogenesis of viruses, bacteria and fungi , virus-host relationships and cellular/adaptive immunology and signaling. The Department is in the School of Medicine with academic ties to clinical departments but is physically located on the main campus , as are departments of Biochemistry, Chemistry, Applied Math and Neurobiology.
