This position is a 0.75FTE (30 hours per week), and will serve as a research scientist to work in state-of-the-art projects involving viral hepatitis and progression to liver cancer in a setting of global research with collaborations across Europe, Africa and South America. The research scientist will be responsible for the following:
• 20% Management of experimental approaches (mostly done by third parties);
• 60% Data analysis related to transcript expression on tissue biopsies, as well as cytokine analysis on peripheral blood
• 20% Coordinate sample distribution with different University and external core laboratories, analysis and interpretation of RNA sequencing, nanostring and ELISA studies related to cytokine analyses and occasional management of laboratory functions.
The ideal individual will be familiar with interpenetration of molecular data and its application to disease in a translational fashion. The individual will work closely with international partners. Opportunities for grant applications and teaching are available if desired.
PhD or terminal degree in relevant field (immunology, molecular biology, bioinformatics, etc.) or MD with experience in the fields below
Experience with data analysis (related to sequencing, immune profiles, etc.) and manuscript development.
