Postdoctoral research in coronavirus pathogenesis and therapeutics

(Ref#: PDS003215)

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

  • Post Doctoral Position - Academic
Job Type/Arrangement:
  • Full Time

Do you want to lead the charge in the battle against COVID-19?

We are looking for talented postdoctoral researchers to join the fight against COVID-19. Qualified candidates would be part of an interdisciplinary team working on several NIH funded programs for the study of coronavirus pathogenesis and the discovery and development of therapeutics.

The person to fill this position will be an essential part of a team performing highly relevant translational research whose ultimate goal is to better understand the molecular mechanisms of coronavirus pathogenesis and to develop broadly active vaccines and antiviral therapies to prevent and stop infection. We aim to develop medical counter measures against coronavirus that we know about today and those that emerge in the future. The candidate will interact with both academic and industrial partners to achieve our goals. We use emerging coronaviruses as models to study the both the virus and host molecular mechanisms of pathogenesis. Within these models, we assess vaccine, antibody and antiviral efficacy. We are seeking candidates with extensive immunological, virological and/or molecular biology experience who can drive their own experiments in the lab.
