Our laboratory investigates two cancer viruses we discovered, KSHV/HHV8 and Merkel cell polyomavirus. Our lab also develops new technologies to discover human tumor viruses. Current projects investigate viral circular RNAs, SCF E3 ligase targeting of viral proteins, mitotic translation regulation and proteomic/nucleic acid-based virus discovery research. Successful candidates will have strong molecular biology skills, superior publication record and a burning desire to understand the fundamental biology of viral infection in cancer. Expertise in bioinformatics, transcriptomics and proteomics is a plus. While a virology background is helpful, exceptional PhD graduates with a strong research track record in other areas are welcome to apply.
