The Bierle Lab is hiring a postdoctoral associate to study viral infections of the placenta. Duties will include mammalian tissue culture, experimental virology, transcriptome analyses, and immunologic assays. Prior experience conducting relevant experiments using in vitro and in vivo models of infection, such as flow cytometry, nucleic acid extraction and quantification, western blotting, ELISA, and next generation sequencing is required. Proficiency with computers is essential as the use of office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point, and specialized scientific software, including Geneious and GraphPad Prism, will be a part of daily duties. The successful candidate will be expected to co-author manuscripts, submit funding applications, and assist with laboratory management and administrative tasks. This position will report to Dr. Craig Bierle of the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
