? Teaching
The person recruited will reinforce the Virology teaching team within the Biology & Geosciences department of UT3's Faculty of Science and Engineering.
Training courses concerned
The person recruited will participate in the teaching units of :
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences
* L2 “Cell Biology and Physiology” course (BCP): “Introduction to virology”.
* L3 BCP pathway: “Fundamental Virology”, “Multidisciplinary Thematic Projects”.
* L3 “Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Microbiology” (2B2M): “Introduction to virology”.
- Master's degree in “Molecular and Cellular Biology”, M2 course in “Immunology, Immunopathologies, Infections”: “Virology”.
- Licence mention “ Sciences et Humanités ‘ (L2) : ’ Pandemics ”.
You may be asked to assume responsibility for teaching and/or training units.
Expected knowledge/skills:
The successful candidate will have a background in virology, expertise in host-pathogen interactions and viral emergence, as well as knowledge of “One Health” approaches, infection control and epidemiology.
Experience of innovative, multi-disciplinary teaching approaches is desirable. Skills in popularizing science will be appreciated.
Ability to work as part of a team is essential.
? Research:
The person recruited will join the Institut Toulousain des Maladies Infectieuses et Inflammatoires (INFINITY), comprising several virology research teams likely to welcome him/her. Within one of these virology teams, she will develop a research theme centered on the analysis of the pathophysiology of viral infections.
More specifically, she will be involved in various projects developed within the Institute, exploring various aspects of viral biology and host-pathogen interactions, focusing on the mechanisms of viral infection and transmission, including vertical transmission in congenital infections, viral persistence and pathophysiological consequences in different infection contexts (human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1), hepatitis E virus (HEV), cytomegalovirus (HCMV), Bornavirus (BoDV).
