Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is recruiting an Infectious Disease Fellow who seeks clinical training focused on infections in hematopoietic cell transplants as well as other immunosuppressed individuals such as those undergoing treatment for malignancy with chemotherapy or CAR-T cells. Our Cancer Center performs more than 400 Adult BMT and over 100 CAR T transplants per year. The program includes participation in a clinical research/quality improvement project during the fellowship.


Funding is for one-year. Applicants who already completed an ACGME Infectious Disease fellowship will have the opportunity to have attending responsibilities in later months of the experience.


Responsibilities


The successful applicant will participate in supervised clinical training on infections in immunocompromised hosts and engage in clinical research with one of our internationally recognized faculty mentors. The individual would participate in our Fred Hutch outpatient infectious disease clinic as well as the immunocompromised host infectious disease inpatient ID consult services. Fred Hutch provides a challenging academic and supportive multi-disciplinary research environment, and the fellow will be able to take full advantage of training, education, and mentorship opportunities offered through Fred Hutch. The training includes attending micro rounds, journal club, infectious disease clinical care conferences and workshops, and opportunities for experience in antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention specific to these populations.

Qualifications

 - We are seeking candidates with a MD, MD/PhD, MD/MPH or equivalent degree who have completed an accredited ACGME Infectious Diseases training program.

 - Candidates should be highly motivated and capable of working independently in a team environment with strong writing, English communication, and problem-solving skills.

 - Candidates with the aspiration to pursue a career with expertise in infections among immunocompromised hosts are preferred.

 - A medical staff appointment with the University of Washington and a Washington State Medical License will be required as part of this position.

 - This fellowship accepts one fellow per academic year.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $76,032 to $100,000 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. This position may be eligible for relocation assistance.
