The Choe laboratory studies entry processes of a wide range of emerging viruses, combining molecular techniques and in vivo experiments. It is located at Boston Children’s Hospital in the Division of Infectious Diseases. Boston Children’s Hospital is one of the primary teaching affiliates of Harvard Medical School.
There are three study areas candidates will work on: (1) to discover antivirals using conventional screen methods and novel strategies to improve the potency and breadth of protein inhibitors (2) to develop AAV vectors targeting specific tissues and cells, using the strategies well established in the lab, or (3) to study flavivirus biology and to develop novel flavivirus vaccines.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in a relevant field and effective oral communication skills. Competency in molecular biology is necessary, and experience with animals is a plus. Interested applicants should submit CV and contact information of three references to: Hyeryun.choe@childrens.harvard.edu.
