About This Role:
The Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University seeks applications for a 12-month, tenure-track or tenured Associate Professor/ Full Professor Faculty position with a primary emphasis in basic, mechanistic research on emerging and/or zoonotic bacterial or viral pathogens. This position will also serve as the Associate Director of an NIH COBRE Center (Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases; https://www.k-state.edu/cezid). The expected start date for this position is as early as January 2023. The successful applicant must have extensive experience leading a productive research program as demonstrated by: (i) longstanding support from NIAID, NIGMS or similar funding programs; (ii) a robust record of training graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and junior faculty; and (iii) high-impact peer-reviewed publications. Preference will be given to applicants that utilize animal models in their research and that focus on emerging and/or zoonotic infectious diseases. The distribution of effort for this position is approximately 60-70 % research, 10-20% administration, 5-10 % graduate teaching, and 5-10 % non-directed service.
