Postdoctoral position in innate immunity and host virus interactions

Rutgers University, New Jersey Medical School

Categories:
  • Post Doctoral Position - Academic
Job Type/Arrangement:
  • Full Time
Description:

The laboratory of Dr. Ricardo Rajsbaum in the Department of Medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS, Newark), is looking for highly motivated postdoctoral fellows. Multiple projects are available to investigate virus-host interactions, innate immunity, antagonism of viral infection, and the role of cellular and viral ubiquitination and other post-translational modifications in innate immune signaling and virus replication. The projects are highly collaborative and include studies on multiple viruses, including Influenza virus, SARS-CoV-2, Zika virus, and Ebola virus. Candidates must have a Ph.D. and should have experience in immunology, virology and molecular biology, with preference given to those with experience in ubiquitination and innate immunity. BSL3 biocontainment experience would be a plus.

Dr Rajsbaum is the director of the new Center for Virus-Host-Innate-Immunity (CVHII) at Rutgers-NJMS. The lab is part of the Institute for Infectious and Inflammatory Diseases (i3D), and the Center for Immunity and Inflammation (CII). The scientific environment is excellent and provides opportunities to interact with leading scientists studying different areas of innate immunity and infectious diseases at Rutgers. The Newark location provides excellent opportunities to explore the New York city metropolitan area. Multiple postdoctoral positions are available to start immediately.

We value diversity, and we are an inclusive environment. We especially encourage women and underrepresented minorities to apply.

To apply, send your curriculum vitae and a cover letter with a statement of research including technical experience. In the cover letter please explain in detail why you think this lab would be a good match for you. Send your application by e-mail to Dr. Ricardo Rajsbaum at ricardo.rajsbaum@rutgers.edu
