The Department of Microbiology and Immunology, College of Medicine, at the University of Illinois, Chicago (UIC), is seeking outstanding candidates for tenure-track faculty positions at the Associate or Full Professor levels. Applicants should be creative and collaborative scientists pursuing fundamental and translational research in HIV or SIV. Applicants should be conducting HIV or SIV research in areas including but not limited to immunology, microbiome, cell biology, imaging, bioinformatics and animal models. UIC offers an intellectually exciting, collegial and supportive environment with robust graduate, MSTP and post-doctoral programs and extensive opportunities for interdisciplinary and interdepartmental collaboration. Resources include outstanding core facilities for DNA/RNA sequencing and genomics, imaging, mass spectrometry, flow cytometry, structural analyses and automated drug screening. Facilities supporting BSL-3 and ABSL3 pathogen research are operational within the department and college. Qualifications: Applicants should hold Ph.D., M.D/Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree, and at least 4 years of experience at the faculty level. Applicants are expected to have an established research program with extramural funding and a strong publication record, experience in training postdoctoral fellows, and should be committed to teaching graduate and medical students.
