The University of Nebraska, Lincoln and the Nebraska Center for Virology is seeking two postdoctoral fellows to conduct research on vaccines for the protection against viruses such as influenza and Zika virus. Our research focuses on designing novel vaccine candidates that can induce broadly protective neutralizing antibodies against viruses. We are currently focusing on developing vaccines against Zika and influenza (Human and Swine) virus. Our research is currently conducting research funded by the National Institutes of Health: Rapid Manufacturing of Universal Flu Vaccine and USDA: One Health Universal Swine Influenza Vaccine to develop and evaluate influenza virus vaccine candidates.
We are seeking to fill a Post-Doctoral Research Associate or Scientist position with a candidate that is highly self-motivated with a passion for investigating vaccines that have the potential to directly impact and improve the quality of life for both animals and humans.
Required Education and Experience:
• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Virology, Microbiology, Immunology or other related fields.
Preferred Experience:
The candidate will be involved in various aspects of vaccine research and development, including structure-based immunogen design, molecular cloning and production of immunogens, immunization of small laboratory animals, evaluation of antibody and T cell responses, and molecular cloning and production of monoclonal antibodies.
