About Us:

The Idaho Veterans Research and Education Foundation (IVREF) is an independent non-profit research organization which supports the office of research and development at the Boise Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC). Our team of scientists, led by renowned infectious diseases expert Dr. Dennis Stevens, conducts world-class biomedical research in a fully equipped, state-of-the-art 18,000 sq. ft. laboratory and fully accredited animal research facility, located on the Boise VAMC campus. Current research areas include finding cures for multiple antibiotic-resistant gram-positive infectious diseases, advanced therapies in diabetic healing, pulmonary infection, and other conditions that adversely affect veterans’ health. Infrastructure includes a Clinical Research Unit, a Histology/Pathology/Imaging core facility, and scientific cores in: microbiology, protein, tissue culture, cell isolation & characterization, and molecular biology.
