The successful applicant will conduct research in the laboratories of Professor and Pegan and that of his Atlanta based CDC collaborator Eric Bergeron on a Federally sponsored project. This project focuses on the development of vaccines and biologics for Crimean Congo hemorrhagic fever virus (CCHFV). This project will involve the use of multiple virology and immunological techniques to include mammalian cell culture, transfection, protein purification, and model system preparations. Successful applicant will benefit from an environment at the CDC and UGA that contains some of the latest instrumentation for these methods applications.
