Staff Clinician

Attending Physician, Transplant Infectious Disease Consult Service

The Laboratory of Clinical Immunology and Microbiology (LCIM), DIR, seeks highly qualified and motivated candidates for a staff clinician position in the area of infectious diseases and bone marrow transplantation. LCIM integrates basic and clinical research of immune function and studies of pathogens, including those that infect the immunocompromised host. The Blood and Immune Deficiency-Cell Therapy Program (BID-CTP) houses all non-malignant hematopoietic transplantation, cell therapy, and gene therapy within the NIH Clinical Center.

The successful candidate will devote more than 50% of their time to executing clinical protocols and providing direct clinical care to patients enrolled in LCIM and BID-CTP clinical studies at the NIH Clinical Center and outpatient clinics. The incumbent will work as a member of the transplant infectious disease consult service team to provide and manage attending coverage of patients pre- and post-transplant.

Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent, have completed a residency in internal medicine or pediatrics, have completed fellowship training in infectious disease, and meet the requirements for credentialing to practice as a staff physician in the NIH Clinical Center. The ideal candidate will have experience in clinical care of highly complex immunocompromised patient populations.
