A NIH-funded postdoctoral position in molecular virology to study Zika virus and its interaction with human neural progenitor cells (hNPCs) is available immediately at Florida State University, Department of Biological Science. This project is on the molecular mechanisms by which Zika virus induces DNA damage response and impedes cell cycle progression in hNPCs derived by targeted differentiation of pluripotent stem cells. Additional Zika virus projects in the lab include the application of 3-dimensional brain organoid and blood brain barrier models. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in virology or related fields. Prior knowledge of DNA replication and cell cycle regulation is desired but not required. Please contact email@example.com for more details if interested.
