Description: As a part of the NIH-funded Johns Hopkins Center for Research Excellence (SCORE) in sex and age differences in immunity to influenza (SADII), a position is available immediately to participate in animal and human studies aimed at understanding the genetic and hormonal mechanisms of sex and age differences in immune responses to seasonal influenza vaccines. The research will be focused on 1) analysis of humoral immune responses and B cell activity following seasonal influenza vaccination in existing age and sex stratified human populations; and 2) utilization of animal models that can test hypotheses and mechanisms of action that are inferred from studies in human populations.
