Postdoctoral fellow in molecular virology - Philadelphia, PA

University of Pennsylvania

Categories:
  • Post Doctoral Position - Academic
Job Type/Arrangement:
  • Full Time
Description:

An NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Elizabeth White, Ph.D. at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. https://www.med.upenn.edu/whitelab/

Our collaborative team studies the molecular biology of human papillomaviruses (HPVs). Our goal is to understand the molecular mechanisms by which HPVs modulate host cell processes and cause cancer. Projects are available in several broad areas. We use molecular and cell biological techniques as well as computational biology, mass spectrometry, high-throughput screening approaches, and more to investigate HPV biology. For examples of our recent work, see PNAS (2019) 116:7033-7042 and eLife (2022) 11:e75466.

The Perelman School of Medicine provides an outstanding environment for postdoctoral training. Our colleagues include world-class physicians and basic scientists. Penn is home to outstanding tumor virology laboratories, the Abramson Cancer Center, and the Tumor Virology Program. There are abundant opportunities for collaboration with these and other groups at Penn, and at neighboring institutions.
